Dispatches began as a lone voice which felt aggrieved at having to miss any matches at all during the World Cup due to work commitments. Known at the time as Dispatches From A World Cup Sofa, it attempted to offer a daily intelligent discourse on the themes and issues that arose from happenings in South Africa.
Since then, it has metamorphosed into the weekly Dispatches From A Football Sofa with pretty much the same remit. The word is spreading and if you dare to look, you will find Dispatches popping up in various guest-spots on football blogs elsewhere on the net.
